Designed in BD
In collaboration with German footwear brand EKN, Rokaiya designed Kamthala — a vegan sneaker inspired by Bangladesh’s national fruit and framed through the proposition “Designed in Bangladesh, Made in Europe.” The project became a visible statement about creative equity.

Context
Kamthala was designed in collaboration with German footwear brand EKN. The title takes the Bengali for jackfruit, Bangladesh’s national fruit, and places Bangladeshi authorship inside a European making system.

Research
The framing proposition — “Designed in Bangladesh, Made in Europe” — asks where value sits in global fashion supply chains, and who is named as the author of design.
03 · Material
Material
The public record describes a vegan construction. Material samples, colour standards and making notes will be published with studio-approved photography.
04 · Process
Process
The collaboration is documented in verified press from 2023 and 2024. Process stills, last shapes and workshop film remain with the studio pending rights clearance.
